The PGA Tour heads to Hawaii for the first time in 2023 for the Sentry Tournament of Champions at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, Hawaii. The 2023 Sony Open field tees off on Thursday and features a mix of proven Tour champions and rising stars. World No. 19 Sungjae Im is listed as the 10-1 betting favorite in the latest 2023 Sony Open odds from Caesars Sportsbook. He is followed by Tom Kim (11-1), Jordan Spieth (14-1), Hideki Matsuyama (15-1) and Brian Harman (16-1). Other top contenders in the Sony Open field include Russell Henley (18-1), Tom Hoge (22-1) Corey Conners (22-1), and Adam Scott (31-1). The total tournament purse is $7.9 million, with $1.422 million going to the winner, making it imperative that you nail your one and done picks this week at Kapalua.

As the betting favorite, Im will likely be a very popular PGA one and done pick this week at Waialae. Is the two-time PGA Tour winner a must-play? Or would it make more sense to go with another high upside option like Billy Horschel (32-1), Webb Simpson (50-1), or Gary Woodland (50-1)? Before locking in your 2023 Sony Open one and done picks, you need to see what SportsLine DFS pro and PGA expert Mike McClure has to say.

The One and Done format is growing in popularity. It has several noticeable similarities to NFL Survivor pools, with the main difference being entries are not eliminated with a bad week. Players pick one golfer per week and earn points based on their selected golfer’s prize money for that tournament. Golfers can only be used once per season, and the point format makes nailing majors and big money tournaments critical.

McClure is a DFS legend with over $2 million in career winnings, and he’s been red-hot on his PGA picks dating back to the PGA Tour restart in June of 2020. McClure uses his proprietary simulation model to analyze the field and crush his golf picks. In fact, the model is up over $9,500 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

McClure’s model included J.T. Poston in its best bets to win the 2022 John Deere Classic. That bet hit at +5500, and for the entire tournament, McClure’s best bets returned almost $1,100. At the 2022 Masters, McClure’s model was all over Scottie Scheffler’s first career major championship victory heading into the weekend. McClure was dialed in on his One and Done picks throughout the 2022 PGA Tour season, calling Hideki Matsuyama’s outright win at the Sony Open and hitting on several under the radar picks that finished in the top-5 or higher.

Last week at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, McClure listed 75-1 long shot Luke List as his top One and Done pick. The result: List shot 20 under to finish in 11th place, taking home $292,500.

Now, McClure has dialed in on the 2023 Sony Open golf tournament, and just locked in his one and done picks and PGA predictions. You can only see McClure’s Sony Open one and done picks at SportsLine.

2023 Sony Open One and Done picks

One golfer McClure will be backing this week at Waialae Country Club is Corey Conners. He is currently ranked No. 34 in the latest Official World Golf Rankings, but McClure believes he’s one of the top contenders to win this week in Honolulu. Conners has long been one of the PGA Tour’s best players off the tee and he can be elite with his irons when he’s dialed in. The 37-year-old notched his first only PGA Tour victory at the Valero Texas Open in 2019.

Conners notched back-to-back top-10 finishes at the Hero World Challenge and the QBE Shootout before the December break, and finished in 18th place against an elite field at the Sentry Tournament of Champions last week. If he can get his putter dialed in this week, McClure believe Conners has what it takes to win at Waialae. With the intriguing mix of talent in the Sony Open field, it’s very possible that Conners will fly under the radar in one and done pools this week offering huge value. How to make 2023 Sony Open One and Done picks

McClure is also targeting another golfer for his 2023 Sony Open one and done picks that is listed at 34-1 in the latest PGA golf odds. This player has been red-hot dating back to 2022, but consistently flies under the radar and has the ability to win any tournament he enters. The PGA DFS player pool will be stocked with talented golfers for the 2023 Sony Open, which gets underway on Thursday, Jan. 12. Major champions Jordan Spieth, Hideki Matsuyama and Keegan Bradley headline the Sony Open 2023 field, and they’ll certainly be among the top daily Fantasy golf picks this week. Matsuyama is the defending champion of this event, Spieth is coming off a T-13 finish at the Sentry Tournament of Champions and Bradley currently sits atop the FedExCup standings. However, daily Fantasy golf players will have to decide if they can be trusted when setting their PGA DFS strategy for the 2023 Sony Open. Before you lock in your PGA DFS picks for the 2023 Sony Open, you’ll want to see the latest daily Fantasy golf picks, advice and player pool from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS pro with over $2 million in career winnings, and he’s been red-hot on his PGA Tour picks this season. McClure is also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every tournament 10,000 times, taking factors like statistical trends, past results and current form into account. This allows him to find the best PGA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any PGA DFS player.

Last week at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, McClure included Jon Rahm among his top PGA DFS picks on FanDuel and DraftKings. The result: Rahm finished on top of the leaderboard, securing his eighth PGA Tour title after shooting 27-under par. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable weekend.

In addition, McClure’s model is up over $9,500 on its best bets since June 2020, nailing tournament after tournament. This same model has also nailed a whopping eight majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now, McClure has set his sights on the 2023 Sony Open and revealed his optimal PGA DFS advice, strategy and player pool. Head to SportsLine now to see his top daily Fantasy golf picks for the Sony Open 2023.

Top 2023 Sony Open PGA DFS picks

One of McClure’s top PGA DFS picks for the 2023 Sony Open is J.T. Poston at $7,700 on DraftKings and $9,300 on FanDuel. Poston is coming off a respectable showing at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, securing a T-21 finish in Hawaii.

Poston has now finished inside the top-25 in eight of his last 11 starts on the PGA Tour. He’s been able to consistently find himself in the mix thanks to his impeccable accuracy. Poston currently ranks 20th in greens in regulation percentage (73.89%) and 29th in driving accuracy percentage (66.20%), so confidently lock him in your PGA DFS lineups and look for a big return this week at the 2023 Sony Open.

McClure’s optimal PGA DFS strategy also includes rostering Sungjae Im at $10,300 on DraftKings and $11,800 on FanDuel.

Im certainly has the game to finish near the top of the leaderboard this week. The 24-year-old has missed the cut just once in his last 11 starts on the PGA Tour, and he’s proven he can contend with the best players in the world. He secured a runner-up finish at the Tour Championship last season and he continues to be one of the most accurate players off the tee. In fact, Im ranks inside the top-25 in strokes gained: tee-to-green (1.079), strokes gained: off-the-tee (.824) and driving accuracy percentage (66.96%), all of which makes him an extremely valuable PGA DFS asset. See who else to back right here.

2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions DFS: Optimal DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy golf picks, PGA lineups https://golfingagency.com/2023-sentry-tournament-of-champions-dfs-optimal-draftkings-fanduel-daily-fantasy-golf-picks-pga-lineups/ Tue, 03 Jan 2023 22:19:27 +0000 https://golfingagency.com/2023-sentry-tournament-of-champions-dfs-optimal-draftkings-fanduel-daily-fantasy-golf-picks-pga-lineups/

Tony Finau is expected to be among the top daily Fantasy golf picks this week for the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions. Finau finished on top of the leaderboard at the Houston Open earlier this season and he’s won three of his last seven official starts on the PGA Tour. However, daily Fantasy golf players will have to decide if he can be trusted when setting their PGA DFS strategy for the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions, which gets underway from the Plantation Course at Kapalua in Hawaii on Thursday, Jan. 5.

With a PGA DFS player pool featuring a 39-man field made up of winners from 2022 and the top 30 from last season’s final FedEx Cup points list, PGA DFS players will have to decide which golfers are worth investing in. Can Finau, Scottie Scheffler or Jordan Spieth be relied on as PGA DFS picks this week? Or is it time to fade them in favor of players with a significantly lower price tag? Before you lock in your PGA DFS picks for the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions, you’ll want to see the latest daily Fantasy golf picks, advice and player pool from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions PGA DFS picks

One of McClure’s top PGA DFS picks for the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions is Jon Rahm at $10,000 on DraftKings and $12,000 on FanDuel. Rahm has had tremendous success at the Plantation Course in recent years. The 28-year-old secured a runner-up finish at the Sentry Tournament of Champions last year and in 2018, so he knows what it takes to compete at this event.

Rahm has all the tools needed to return solid value for your PGA DFS lineups this week in Hawaii. In fact, Rahm enters this week’s event ranked third in driving accuracy percentage (80.36%), eighth in greens in regulation percentage (75.00%) and 12th in driving distance (317.6), all of which makes him an extremely valuable PGA DFS asset.

McClure’s optimal PGA DFS strategy also includes rostering Justin Thomas at $9,900 on DraftKings and $11,500 on FanDuel. Thomas has been dominant at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in recent years. Thomas finished on top of the leaderboard in 2017 and 2020 and he’s finished inside the top-five in each of his last four starts at this event.

Thomas is also coming off a top-five finish at the Hero World Challenge in December and history indicates the 29-year-old could be in the mix again this week at Kapula. Lock him in your PGA DFS lineups and look for a big return at the Sentry Tournament of Champions. See who else to back right here.
