The 8 Best Women’s Golf Bags of 2023 [Cart & Stand Bags]

A golf bag is more than just a place to store all of your gear. Golf bags help you show off a bit of your personality and style on the golf course.

When I was younger, I had a Ping golf bag that was truly my favorite golf bag ever. The thing that made this bag stand out was the color and design more than the features and tech.

Fast forward to today and it’s hard to not be impressed with the current women’s bags on the market. Let’s look at the best women’s golf bags of this year for both stand and cart bags.

What to Look for in a Good Golf Bag for Women

Before you decide on which golf bags are the best for you, there are some key features and functionality you should be aware of. If you purchase the right bag, you can have it in place for several years; it’s worth doing the research now.

Cart vs. Stand Bag

The first big decision that has to be made is whether you are interested in a cart bag or a stand bag. The cart bag will have the most space and room for things like a full-length apparel pocket or a 14 way divider.

However, cart bags add quite a bit of weight and can make it difficult for those that like to walk the course. The stand bag may only have a few dividers, but it has essential pockets like a ball pocket or accessories and beverage pockets.

Many women golfers ride the course or use a push cart; if that is the case for you, the cart bag is the way to go. If you like to walk and carry, stand bags are the only choice.

Pockets

Pockets help you stay organized on the golf course. Some of my favorite pockets in a golf bag are the water bottle or cooler pockets, the valuables pocket as well as a quick access golf ball pocket.

Having some room for apparel and other gear is also important, but the essentials include the pockets to keep balls and tees organized and to ensure that your valuables have a place to sit while you are on the course.

Straps

Almost all golf bags have at least a large shoulder strap to help lift the bag in and out of a vehicle or the golf cart. Some will also have straps that are more like backpack style straps. These are in place to help golfers with walking the golf course.

If you walk, you need the backpack style shoulder straps. Trust me on this one, I love to walk the course, and I would only do it with a stand bag designed specifically for walking.

Color and Design

There are lots of different color options and designs available for women golfers. However, I caution you to be careful with anything too lightly colored. When the colors are lighter, it can be hard to keep the bag clean.

You may play one or two rounds in the rain or on a course that is sandy or muddy, and your bag may never look the same. Keep this in mind, but if you are a fair-weather golfer, there will likely be no issues with any color you choose.

Individual Dividers

The individual dividers of a women’s golf bag keep the clubs from touching each other as you play. When you have the dividers in place, there is a much less likely chance that your grips will have to be replaced.

In addition, it makes it easier to keep your clubs in place and to ensure you are not missing any of them on the golf course.

One glance over at the bag can tell you that your 9 iron is missing.

Cart bags should have 14 or even 15 dividers; many stand bags only have 4-6. The dividers add some weight to the bags, so you see fewer dividers with the stand bags.

Zippers/Magnets

Golf bags also use zippers and magnets to keep the pockets of the bag closed. If you find a bag with magnetic technology, it can be a great benefit. These are very easy to use and can help you get gear in and out of the bag quickly.

When it comes to zippers, just make sure that the zippers are not going to rust. Golf bags are almost always exposed to harsh weather/humidity at some point, and when the zippers rust, it’s hard to get to all of your gear.

Accessories and Features

Some women’s golf bags have a glove holder or a place to store your rangefinder. Some bags also have an umbrella holder or umbrella sleeve. Remember that many accessories can be added to a golf bag after the fact, so don’t be concerned if some things are not included.

Top 4 Women’s Golf Stand Bags

Stand bags are great for the woman golfer that likes to walk the course. In addition, if you go to the practice facility often and want to just bring the entire bag with you, stand bags are much more convenient.

1. Callaway Fairway Plus Stand Bag

Callaway Golf Fairway Plus Stand Bag

Pros

  • Long-lasting and durable fabric
  • Works well on a push cart
  • Good quality club protection for a stand bag

Cons

  • Color selection can be a bit limited at times

The Callaway Fairway Plus stand bag is a push cart friendly stand bag with some great new features. The Fairway is a golf bag model that Callaway has had in place for some time. With the new Fairway Plus, we saw some additional features included.

With this model, you will find a new mid sized 4 way top with rubber over mold. The idea here is that you can put the bag on a push cart, and it sits really well without twisting or swaying. In addition, the bag comes with accessories like an alloy towel ring, durable fabric, and metal zip pulls to make access to the pockets considerably easier.

With Callaway, you don’t have to worry about quality or issues that come up. The only thing to be careful of here is choosing a color that will not get too dirty. So many women’s golf bags are white, pink, or light purple, and those colors can get stained.

2. Ogio Fuse 4 Stand Bag

Ogio Fuse 4 Stand Bag

Ogio Fuse 4 Stand Bag

New 4-way full length divider top for traditional organization of your woods and your irons and putter. 6 front facing pockets including a Rapid Access Snap Ball Pocket, and a Rapid Access Snap fleece lined valuables pocket, and water bottle pocket with drainage port.

Check Price on Amazon

Pros

  • Impressive features for a stand bag
  • Rapid Access pockets are functional and easy to use
  • Self balancing strap system

Cons

  • Some stand bags have more dividers at the top

The Ogio name will come up more than once on our list of the best women’s golf bags. Ogio does a great job of putting together options for golfers with impressive technology and features they need while on the course.

With the Ogio Fuse 4 Stand bag, you get a 4 way full length divider and six front facing pockets. My favorite pocket on the back is the Rapid Access Snap Ball Pocket and also a Rapid Access Snap Valuables Pocket.

The ability to grab the things you use the most is excellent with this bag, and there is even a water bottle pocket to keep you hydrated on the golf course. Ogio is a brand you can trust, and if you like to walk, the molded double shoulder strap is a great solution.

3. Izzo Ultra Lite Stand Bag

Izzo Ultra Lite Stand Bag

Pros

  • Durable and long-lasting fabric
  • Very lightweight design
  • Easy to lift in and out of the car
  • Really fair price

Cons

  • Not the best when it comes to club protection
  • Very minimal accessories and features

The Izzo Ultra Lite Stand Bag for women is an excellent option for those on a budget. If you are new to the game or need something for a fair price, the Izzo is a great solution. In addition, this bag only weighs 3.2 pounds, so you won’t have any trouble loading or unloading it.

Features on the Izzo Ultra Lite are a bit limited. Expect a 4 way top and just 2 full length dividers. This isn’t the best situation for a golfer that plans on putting the golf bag on a cart.

However, the fabric is a 4200 polyester, and it doesn’t fade easily. Overall you get what you pay for when it comes to golf products and gear, but the Izzo Ultra Lite Stand Bag provides good value for what you get.

4. Ogio Woode Hybrid Stand Bag

Ogio Woode Hybrid Stand Bag

Ogio Woode Hybrid Stand Bag

8-way top better organizes your woods and your irons with extra room for large putter grips. 9 front facing pockets including a Rapid Access Snap Ball Pocket, and a Rapid Access Snap fleece lined valuables pocket, and water bottle pocket with drainage port.

Check Price on Amazon

Pros

  • Great combination of cart and stand bag
  • Club protection is better than most stand bags
  • Unique color selection
  • Water bottle pocket with drainage port

Cons

  • More expensive than some other stand bag options on the market

The Ogio Woode Hybrid Stand bag was an option that had to make it on the list. This is a newer design, and it makes so much sense for the golfers that like to walk the course some days and ride others.

With a hybrid stand bag, you will get an 8 way organizer top to keep your clubs from hitting each other. In addition, the pockets on the bag are front facing so you can access them when using a golf cart. There are a total of 9 front facing pockets, which is more than most.

In addition to the Ogio Woode Hybrid stand bag having tons of room for your clubs and gear, they also incorporated more of those Rapid Access pockets. The magnetic closure makes it so easy to keep track of your stuff and stay organized on the course.

Top 4 Women’s Golf Cart Bags

The best cart bags for women golfers are those that have lots of protection for golf clubs and tons of storage. With cart bags, you have to expect that the bag itself will be a little heavier, and that functionality when walking the course is not good.

1. Callaway Chev Cart Bag

Callaway Golf Chev Cart Bag

Pros

  • Plenty of front facing pockets
  • Lightweight and durable fabric
  • 14 way full-length dividers

Cons

  • Bag is a little big to maneuver in and out of the cart

The Callaway Chev cart bag is one of the more popular options for women golfers. With 14 way club organization, the shafts of your golf clubs are much less likely to have issues with damage. Most women golfers play with graphite shafts, and they can get damaged considerably easier.

Each of the 14 slots has a full length divider to ensure that the grips are not rubbing against each other and causing issues. There are five front facing pockets on the Callaway Chev cart bag, including the velour lined valuables pocket.

If you like to carry an extra jacket or two with you, the large apparel pocket creates plenty of room.

2. Datrek DG Lite II Cart Bag

Datrek DG Lite II Golf Cart Bag

Datrek DG Lite II Golf Cart Bag

15-way with full length individual dividers. Soft-grip lift assist handles integrated into bag top. Soft-grip oversized putter well fits a Jumbo grip. Seven total pockets provide ample storage including two oversized Apparel pockets, a large ball pocket and fleece lined valuables pocket. Oversized insulated cooler pocket.

Check Price on Amazon

Pros

  • Oversized insulated cooler pocket
  • The putter well can fit a large grip
  • Seven total pockets
  • 15 way top

Cons

  • Color selection and overall style options are a bit limited

The Datrek DG Lite II Cart Bag is a nice bag for the price. The top features a 15 way divider. If you want to keep your alignment sticks or your swing trainer in one of the slots, you can easily do that.

At the top of the bag, there are soft grip lift assist handles. These are integrated into the top of the bag and make it much easier to maneuver. As we mentioned, one issue that women golfers have with cart bags is the ability to maneuver them; with the Datrek DG Lite II, that shouldn’t be too much of a concern.

3. Sun Mountain Women’s Stellar

Sun Mountain Stellar Cart Bag

Pros

  • Great looking golf bag
  • Incredible storage and organization
  • Good color selection
  • Very stable on the golf cart

Cons

  • Brand new option with premium pricing

Sun Mountain makes some of the most premium golf bag options in the game. The Sun Mountain Stellar is a brand new release that features a 10-way top, tons of storage and protection, and a total weight of under six pounds.

You will really like the full length club dividers and the way that your clubs stay protected in this bag. In addition, Sun Mountain has mastered the cart strap pass through technology. Your bag is going to be centered and stable on the golf cart.

The Stellar also has a total of 11 pockets, including a vented cooler pocket.

One of the things I found most impressive about the bag is that even with all of the added features and cart bumpers for stability, it’s not that heavy!

4. Glove It Ladies Cart Bag

Glove It Ladie's Golf Cart Bag

Glove It Ladie’s Golf Cart Bag

14-way golf club bag that is functional and fashionable, with top-quality materials, expert design, and custom signature prints. 9 easy-access pockets, zip-off golf ball pocket, thermal-lined cooler pocket, soft-lined valuables pocket, umbrella sleeve, integrated putter well, and a rain hood all included.

Check Price on Amazon

Pros

  • One of the best women’s golf bags for the look
  • Several prints available
  • Weighs just six pounds
  • Made with top-quality materials

Cons

  • Bags do tend to fade after a few years

The Glove It Ladies Cart bag is perfect for the woman golfer that wants to have a golf bag different than anyone else on the course. There are so many colors and patterns you can choose from here that you know you will be unique.

With the Glove It bag, there is a 14-way top to keep clubs separated, a thermal lined cooler pocket, and an umbrella sleeve. The total weight of the bag is right at six pounds, so it’s not difficult to get it on and off the golf cart.

If you are into the way the bag looks, this is going to have an eye-catching design.

The 6 Best Golf Bags with a Putter Well [2022 Rankings]

Your putter is your money stick. The club gains, saves, or leaks shots in an instant.

Therefore, you should protect this precious tool, to achieve favorable results on the golf course. One way to look after it is to find a golf bag with a dedicated putter well.

In this guide, I unveil my 6 best golf bags with a putter well for 2022. You’ll notice that these are all cart bags, which offer ample storage space but are not conducive to being carried. The list features a range of affordable, mid-range, and premium constructions for every golfer’s budget.

Speaking of cart bags. Many modem constructions feature 14 slots, ensuring each club enjoys complete privacy. Learn how to properly organize a 14-slot golf bag once you have read the article below.

1. MacGregor VIP Deluxe

Top pick

MacGregor Golf VIP Deluxe 14-Way Cart Bag

The MacGregor VIP Deluxe golf cart bag is an affordable construction with an oversized putter well with sufficient space for a jumbo grip. A 14-way top divider greets you to keep every golf club in a separate compartment, while the bag offers ample pockets for the average golfer to store the basics.

Macgregor fitted the MacGregor VIP Deluxe with a Strap-Thru feature that allows the cord to run under the front pocket. You’ll find that it gives you access to the front pocket while keeping it secured to the cart.

In addition, the design team fitted the golf bag with six pockets to give you ample storage space for your standard apparel and accessories. In addition, it features a cooler pocket which keeps your drinks chilled while roaming the golf course.

Overall, the MacGregor VIP Deluxe golf bag is an affordable model for the average golfer who operates a pushcart on a budget.

Pros

  • Affordable
  • Oversized putter well to fit jumbo grips
  • 14-way top
  • Remains fastened to your cart
  • 6 pockets

Cons

  • It contains fewer pockets than other cart bags
  • The durability is questionable

2. TaylorMade Select ST Cart Bag

TaylorMade Select ST Cart Bag

The TaylorMade 2022 Select ST Cart bag kicks off the mid-range products with a robust top structure, full-length dividers, sufficient storage space, and 7 colors to choose from. Its moderate price point and exceptional organization are ideal for mid and high-handicappers seeking a reputable brand.

A 15-way top setup and full-length dividers ensure that each club receives a separate slot, making them easy to add or remove. Plus, a dedicated putter slot caters to jumbo grips. You’ll notice that the full-length dividers prevent your shafts from colliding while you walk and scratch one another.

Although the Select ST Cart bag carries fewer pockets than other designs, I found it sufficient to hold what I needed. It featured parts for my rangefinder, golf balls, apparel, and beverages. However, golfers who prepare for every scenario may prefer extra compartments.

Lastly, you’ll appreciate the accessory loop,  with a velcro attachment that allows you to store your glove outside the bag during your round.

Pros

  • Moderately affordable
  • 15 way top with full length dividers
  • Specific slot for your putter
  • 7 pockets
  • Available in 7 colors

Cons

  • It contains fewer pockets than other cart bags
  • It does not contain a loop for the cart strap to go through

3. Founders Club Premium Cart Bag

Founders Club Premium Cart Bag

Founders Club Premium Cart Bag

Molded 14 Way Top Organizer protects irons from damage as well as keeping clubs from rattling/clanging and making noise. Each iron, wood, and putter has it’s own dedicated spot so you will always find the club you need quickly and notice when a club is missing.

Buy on Amazon

The Founders Club Premium Cart bag is a mid-range model featuring a 14-way top divider and a putter well. In addition, I was impressed by the storage setup, design options, and overall quality of the construction.

You’ll notice that the bag provides a 14-way top, giving each club a private slot. Plus, a putter well that fits grips up to 1 ¾ inch in diameter. Unfortunately, it does not cater to jumbo SuperStroke putter grips.

I noticed the 9 zippered compartments offered plenty of space to carry everything needed on the golf course. The two long side apparel pockets were deep and held all my rain gear, while the insulated cooler section kept my beverages ice cold. In addition, the velour lined valuables pocket design protected my watch, phone, and wallet.

Finally, I appreciated that Founders Club offered these cart bags in 8 colors, to appeal to all golfers. My main gripe with this product is that it struggles to hold clubs with extended shaft lengths. For example, an extra 0.5-inches sees your clubs stick out like a sore thumb.

Pros

  • 14-way top
  • Separate putter well
  • 9 zippered pockets
  • Available in 8 colors
  • 12 month warranty

Cons

  • The putter well does not fit SuperStroke Jumbo grips
  • Lengthened shafts may stick out at the top of the bag

4. Mizuno BR-D4C Cart Bag

Mizuno BR-D4C Cart Bag

Mizuno BR-D4C Cart Bag

14-Way Top Cuff with Full Length Dividers and Integrated Putter Well. Also Includes and Extra Large Insulated Cooler Pocket with Drain Hole.

Buy on Amazon

We turn up the heat on our best golf bags with a putter well list as we move towards mid and premium-priced products. The Mizuno BR-D4C earns a place at the table thanks to its optimal storage space and quality construction.

Mizuno opted for a 14-way top of the bag design and went the extra mile to include a full-length divider setup. You’ll find that your clubs remain separated to prevent scratches and the clubs entangling.

Now for the impressive part. The designers managed to place 20 side pockets and compartments on the BR-D4C to make it the best golf cart bag for storage space. Among them are a valuable pocket with waterproof zippers, apparel sections, and multiple slots for tees, ball markers, and ionomer products.

The last feature of note are the rubberized utility handles and the single shoulder strap. You’ll notice that the handles simplify the removal of your bag from the trunk of your vehicle, and the strap offers a comfy carry for a limited time. The lack of dual shoulder straps leads to severe discomfort during your round.

Pros

  • Maximum storage space
  • 14 way top
  • Full length dividers prevent scratches to your shafts
  • Push cart notch keeps the bag fastened to the trolley or car.
  • Rubberized grip handles

Cons

  • Expensive compared to other cart bags
  • It is challenging to access some of the pockets.

5. Callaway ORG 14

Callaway ORG 14

Callaway ORG 14

Proprietary 14-way arched top optimizes access to clubs on golf carts and push carts. Individual full-length dividers and separate putter well with TPE overmold for shaft protection.

Buy on Amazon

The Callaway ORG 14 is the best-looking golf bag with a putter well. The design is simple, clean, and effective, and compliments a well-organized construction. In addition to being a cart-friendly bag, the brand fitted hooks and straps to restrict movement on a push trolley.

Like the other cart bags, the ORG 14 boasts a 14-way top setup with full-length dividers to keep every golf club apart. You’ll notice it simplifies removing and adding the club to the slot before and after each shot.

I appreciated that Callaway upped the ante with the putter well by adding a TPE Overmold, ensuring optimal shaft protection. Besides the club slots, you’ll find that the ORG 14 offers 11 pockets to keep your accessories, valuables, and apparel for your day out.

Pros

  • High-quality construction
  • Increased storage space
  • Full length dividers
  • 14 way top
  • Special cart strap pass through

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Too heavy to carry without the assistance of a cart

6. Titleist Cart 15

Titleist Cart 15

Titleist Cart 15

15 full-length dividers and dedicated putter well. 11 zippered pockets with 2 velour lined valuables pockets as well – one hard shell for extra protection.

Buy on Amazon

Rounding out our list is the Titleist Cart 15 bag, featuring a simple look, exceptional top structure, and considerable storage space. I noticed that it allowed me to store my golf clubs, ball retrievers, tees, balls, valuables, and refreshments.

This high-quality bag contains a 15-way top and full-length dividers to keep every club from your driver to wedges and putter separated and safe. In addition, you’ll notice a dedicated putter well that handles jumbo grips.

A neat feature that Titleist offers is a removable and customizable ball pocket. Let yourself feel like a Pro, and place your name on it, or add your company logo to market your business to fellow golfers.

Furthermore, you’ll find that the Cart 15 bag contains 11 zippered pockets to store all your belongings for your day out. Finally, the design team placed an integrated cart strap tunnel simplifying the process of tightening the bag to your vehicle and ensuring easy access to forward-facing pockets.

Pros

  • 15 full length dividers
  • Dedicated putter well
  • 11 pockets
  • Customizable ball pocket
  • Tour integrated handles allow for an easy lift

Cons

  • Expensive
  • It is only available in 2 designs

Which Golf Bags Prevent Club Chatter? [2022 Guide] https://golfingagency.com/which-golf-bags-prevent-club-chatter-2022-guide/ https://golfingagency.com/which-golf-bags-prevent-club-chatter-2022-guide/#respond Thu, 20 Oct 2022 20:12:46 +0000 https://golfingagency.com/which-golf-bags-prevent-club-chatter-2022-guide/
Which Golf Bags Prevent Club Chatter? [2022 Guide]

In our overly busy and often stressful days, it’s usually the little annoyances that drive us the craziest.

One of those little things that may be driving you up the wall is the chattering sound of your golf clubs banging against each other. This can happen whether you carry your clubs or use a golf cart, and it’s maddening.

If you want to learn how you can prevent the sound of golf club chatter, you’ve come to the right place. In this post, we’ll go over which golf bags help eliminate this small but annoying problem on the golf course.

With these tips, you won’t have to hear any more annoying dings.

Types of Golf Bags That Prevent Clubs from Hitting Each Other

Did you know that certain types of golf cart bags will eliminate or at least severely diminish the sound of club chatter? The best golf bag for this is the 14-way bag. As its name implies, the 14-way golf bag has 14 different pockets so that you have a separate spot for each one of your golf clubs.

This works beautifully because golfers are only allowed to keep 14 golf clubs in their bags during a round. Since most 14-way golf bags come with full-length dividers, the golf clubs stay far enough apart to not clack against each other.

If you don’t have a 14-way golf bag, you can still eliminate bag chatter by buying an iron holder, which acts as a locking system. Most of the iron holders on the market can hold up to 9 irons at a time. This is good news because it means there should even be room for your pitching wedge and sand wedge to be locked into place.

Top 4 Golf Bags That Prevent Club Chatter

1. Subtle Patriot Covert Golf Cart Bag

Ewart Shadoff bags long-awaited LPGA Tour win https://golfingagency.com/ewart-shadoff-bags-long-awaited-lpga-tour-win/ https://golfingagency.com/ewart-shadoff-bags-long-awaited-lpga-tour-win/#respond Thu, 13 Oct 2022 13:07:44 +0000 https://golfingagency.com/ewart-shadoff-bags-long-awaited-lpga-tour-win/

Jodi Ewart Shadoff secured a long-awaited maiden LPGA Tour title at the 246th attempt after hanging on for a one-shot victory at the Mediheal Championship.

The 34-year-old from Yorkshire began the final day with a four-shot lead after earlier rounds of 65, 69 and 69 at The Saticoy Club in California, but two nervy bogeys over the front nine on Sunday, offset by a solitary birdie, saw her lead completely eroded by the time she reached the turn.

However, Ewart Shadoff soon steadied the ship with birdies at 12 and 14, and solid pars over the four closing holes saw her card a one-under 71 and a one-shot victory.

Japan’s Yuka Saso birdied her final three holes for a 66 to take her into second place, while Georgia Hall’s final round 65 lifted her to tied-third alongside Paula Reto and Danielle Kang.

Ewart Shadoff, who struggled with injury last year, said: “It’s a little bit surreal. I didn’t know if this moment would ever come. I’m just really grateful for everybody who’s on my team. I’m standing here with the trophy because of them.”

She added: “I’ve been through a lot in the past couple of years with injuries, and I found it a pretty significant mental challenge to get through that. There were times when I didn’t think I would be playing this year, but I didn’t give up on myself. I’ve learned that I can fight through adversity and I can play under the nerves. The last putt was only a foot, but it felt like 20!”

Ewart Shadoff’s victory earned her $270,000 and a move up to 61st in the world ranking from her previous position in 92nd.

Thai teenager Atthaya Thitikul has become the first LPGA Tour rookie in five years to win twice in one season after she defeated Danielle Kang in a sudden-death playoff at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship held at Pinnacle Country Club.

Kang holed out for eagle on the 18th hole in regulation to take the clubhouse lead at 17 under. Thitikul matched her total with a birdie on the penultimate hole and signed for a closing 68, following up a 10-under-par 62 on Saturday. Thitikul won the play-off with a birdie at the second extra hole.

Victory saw the 19-year-old extend her lead in the LPGA Tour’s Rookie of the Year race over South Korea’s Hye-Jin Choi. Her first LPGA Tour success came at the JTBC Classic in March, where she also won in a play-off.

Last season, Thitikul won the LET’s Race to Costa del Sol, Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year award, joining Laura Davies, Carlota Ciganda and Esther Henseleit as the only players to win the latter two honours in the same season.

All About Golf Travel Bags: What You Need to Know https://golfingagency.com/all-about-golf-travel-bags-what-you-need-to-know/ https://golfingagency.com/all-about-golf-travel-bags-what-you-need-to-know/#respond Tue, 27 Sep 2022 07:11:14 +0000 https://golfingagency.com/all-about-golf-travel-bags-what-you-need-to-know/

Golf is a sport adored by many because it is a fun way to initiate a little competition through a game that offers exercise, social interaction and reduced stress (particularly if you are playing well). The beauty of golf is that anyone and everyone can play it – from the young kid hitting balls with his dad to the senior woman trying to stay active and busy in retirement.

Anyone who is interested in golf will tell you that one of the things that make it such an appealing sport is the opportunity it presents to travel to various destinations and beautiful courses around the world. Each one you visit will give you different challenges and scenery, making every round unique and exciting. It’s also an excuse to take a vacation or treat a client to a personal, relaxed meeting.

Wherever golf takes you, and whatever reason you play, the traveling aspect of the sport makes it necessary for every player to have the right golf travel bag. Flying or driving with your clubs and accessories requires protection. If you want to play your best on the course, your sticks have to be in good, playable condition, without any travel damage. That’s why investing in a quality golf travel bag is a must for any regular golfer.

There are usually two categories of golf bag travel cases – hard cover and soft. Which should you choose? Explore the comparisons below to help you make your decision.

Hard Cover Golf Bags

Hard cover Golf bagOne of the best investments that avid golfers can make is a hard-cover golf bag. The hard bags are solid on the outside to protect from bumps and drops, but also have a soft interior cover to cushion your clubs. The inside fabric should be high quality, flexible and provide ample storage space around all of the clubs. The mix of the hard golf travel cover and the soft cradling interior result in durable protection during any means of travel.

When you are bringing your clubs on a plane or shipping them to your destination, the hard-cover golf bag is ideal, as it can be pulled around the airport and tossed on the airplane without causing damage to the contents. Investing in a hard-cover bag may cost more, but it offers the most protection for your sticks when traveling.

Soft Golf Bags

Soft cover bagFor those golf games within driving distance, a hardcover may not be necessary to keep your clubs in excellent condition. The soft travel bags are usually suitable for golfers traveling short distances without having to leave their clubs in the care of others. Most of these bags have enough space for storing a cart bag and have extra pads inside to provide extra protection for the clubs when in transit. Many soft golf travel bags also have rollers that make it easy to pull them to where you want to go.

Choosing the Best Golf Travel Bag

When deciding which travel golf bag style is right for your game, consider where you play, how you play and what you need on the course. If golf trips aren’t typical for you and you just play the local courses, a hard-cover golf travel bag may not be necessary. On the contrary, if you are traveling to a new course every weekend, you will likely want the extra protection a hard bag provides.

But durability is not the only factor to consider when choosing a travel golf bag. A serious golfer knows that a round of golf requires more than the clubs. Your golf bag travel case should be spacious and organized enough to hold other necessary gear. Packing your golf bag for 18 holes means bringing items such as:

  • Golf towels
  • Tees
  • Ball markers
  • Hats
  • Shoes
  • Gloves
  • Extra balls
  • Other attire (in case the weather changes as you approach the green at 10)

With this in mind, purchase a golf travel bag with organizational dividers for the clubs, padded straps to make carrying it around the course easier and more comfortable, durable material to withstand unexpected weather changes, and enough pockets to hold your golf accessories. You will also want to consider the weight of the bag – if it is heavy before you add your clubs and other items, it will be even heavier when it is fully stocked. If you plan to walk a course, this should be a major determining factor in deciding which bag to get.

Travel Like a Pro

Golf travel bagsWhen traveling by plane for a golf trip, make sure you know how to pack your golf bag like a pro. Even if you buy the best golf travel bag on the market, it’s important to carefully pack and prepare it for your time on the links. Whether you decided on a hard case or soft travel bag, make sure you get one that is well-made and durable. Weigh golf bag travel cases before arriving at the airport to ensure there are no extra fees for overweight baggage. It’s also a good idea to lock the case, so it doesn’t pop open during turbulence. If you have a lot of non-golf-related items to pack for your trip, save some space in your suitcase and throw some clothing items around your clubs for extra padding. It gives your clubs a little more protection and lightens your other bag at the same time.

These tips will make traveling with your golf clubs a little easier, but if you want to travel like a pro, ship your sticks to the course ahead of time. You will still need a quality travel golf bag, but you can eliminate all of the hassles of checking your clubs at the airport. With Ship Sticks, we will handle all of the logistics to get your bag to your golf resort by the time your plane arrives, preventing you from having to lug your oversized baggage back and forth.

So the next golf trip you plan, start by getting the best golf travel bag for you. Then, schedule Ship Sticks to pick it up before you leave and meet it at your destination.

Fall golf gift guide 2022: Pullovers, pants, headcovers and bags headline season’s best products https://golfingagency.com/fall-golf-gift-guide-2022-pullovers-pants-headcovers-and-bags-headline-seasons-best-products/ https://golfingagency.com/fall-golf-gift-guide-2022-pullovers-pants-headcovers-and-bags-headline-seasons-best-products/#respond Fri, 23 Sep 2022 04:51:49 +0000 https://golfingagency.com/fall-golf-gift-guide-2022-pullovers-pants-headcovers-and-bags-headline-seasons-best-products/

The most under the radar season to play golf outside is the fall, which has (mostly) arrived. The days are still long enough to get your rounds in, and the weather is not so sweltering that you want to call it after four holes. It is, as far as golf scenes go, about as pleasant and enjoyable as it gets in most parts of the country.

With this in mind, we have a few recommendations for you this fall of stuff we’ve either been trying out or using over the last few weeks and months. Not all of this gear is for on-course play, but all of it it will almost certainly enhance your golf experience for the rest of 2022.

Holderness & Bourne Sullivan pullover ($145 | Holderness & Bourne): The only pullover you need for this fall. It’s soft, light, warm and perfect for crisp mornings and cool evenings. Holderness & Bourne has been pumping out some great stuff recently, and this is among the best products they currently make (full disclosure: author is outfitted by Holderness & Bourne).

H&B

Lululemon commission golf pants ($150 | Lululemon): I absolutely love these pants. They’re somehow both light but also well-constructed. I love playing golf in them, I love not playing golf in them and I’ll wear them almost every day this fall.

Lululemon

Linksoul Groover hoodie ($75 | Linksoul): Lightweight hoodies are a must in the fall, and Linksoul makes a great one. It’s stretchy and light but also warm enough to wear when the temperature drops, whether you’re on or off the course. I love this hoodie.

Linksoul

Primo joggers ($90 | Primo): I feel a bit like an old man trying to convince the kids he still has it when I rock the joggers out on the course (or off of it for that matter), but these are definitely worth it. I’m a huge fan of Primo’s product and these are versatile enough to wear with a collared shirt while playing golf or with a t-shirt while not playing golf.

TRUE Original 1.2 ($170 | TRUE): There are a lot of great golf shoes out there, but not all of them are socially acceptable to wear off the course like these TRUE kicks are. They’re light and comfortable but also stable enough to hold up for walking a full round (or two). I also love that you don’t even have to change out of them when you’re done. I wear them pretty much everywhere, which is a rarity in the golf shoe world.

TRUE

Shapland Elate stand bag ($395 | Shapland): My new favorite golf bag in the world. It was time for me to toss my 10-year-old bag, and Shapland makes an absolutely incredible product. Every detail is considered, and every feature is the highest quality (leather straps, soft club holders and heavy metal buckles). I still use a push cart, but this bag has made me want to just straight up walk. That’s how light, durable and perfect it is.

Shapland

Seamus headcovers ($75 | Seamus): There’s no better headcover product on the market. In a day when louder seems to be all the rage, Seamus’ products are subtle, top-shelf gems. Their color schemes are sublime, the quality of their material is as good as it gets in golf, and — you may not know this — they’ve also branched out into yardage books and pouches for tees and ball markers, both of which are just as splendidly-made as their famous headcovers.

Seamus

Goodr ($35 | Clubhouse Closeout): Goodr sunglasses have become my go-to shades. I don’t normally wear sunglasses while playing, but with their no-slip performance, you certainly could. I’m very much in on the product, the brand and the price point of Goodr.

Goodr

Solo Stove ($240 | Solo Stove): This is definitely not a golf-centric product, but it’s perfect for a post-round beer and chat. Several of my friends have Solo Stoves and love how it contains the smoke (the worst part of any fireside hangout).  As far as fall golf goes, it’s something I’m very much looking forward to having to come home to after those chilly late afternoon rounds.

Solo Stove

Bushnell ($600 | Bushnell): There are myriad rangefinder products in the marketplace these days, but Bushnell remains the top of the class. Its price certainly reflects that, but I would argue that if you buy a quality rangefinder once, you won’t really ever need one again. The Pro X3 had the slope adjust button moved to the top and offers multiple colors you can use to lock on to your target.  I’ve never been disappointed in a Bushnell product.

The 5 best golf stand bags on the market https://golfingagency.com/the-5-best-golf-stand-bags-on-the-market/ https://golfingagency.com/the-5-best-golf-stand-bags-on-the-market/#respond Tue, 13 Sep 2022 03:39:20 +0000 https://golfingagency.com/the-5-best-golf-stand-bags-on-the-market/

Carrying a golf stand bag can be a burden if it is
poorly designed.

Not only can its weight slow you down, but limited
storage space could mean carting an extra bag around the course with you. Or a
lack of extra padding on the shoulder straps could leave you in pain the
following day.

Your gear could even become damaged or lost if it
isn’t secured within a good quality bag. This includes your clubs and valuables
such as your keys or smartphone.

Here you’ll find the best golf stand bags on the market, from high-end products to more budget-friendly options, so you and your gear can remain in top shape.

dri lite golf stand bag in light blue

Key features:

  • 14-way divider top
  • Waterproof design
  • Available in six different
    colours

A Golf Monthly’s Editor’s Choice product is kicking
off our list, which sets the tone for the standard we look for when making
recommendations.

Not only does it offer plenty of storage, but it
will also keep your gear dry, thanks to the 100% waterproof material and sealed
zippers.

There are five different pockets, one of which is an
integrated cooler pocket, meaning you can keep your food and drinks cold when
on the go. This is particularly useful during the warmer season.

If you hope to take advantage of its hybrid design,
you’ll be pleased to know the trolley-compatible bottom will keep the bag
perfectly square during transit. The bag only weighs just over 4lbs, so when
you need to carry it by hand, you won’t be overly exerted.

Aesthetics are an important factor to many golfers, and this bag comes in a modern, sleek design. It’s also available in six different colours, so you can customise your purchase to ensure it matches the rest of your gear.

Key features:

  • Four-way divider top
  • Lightweight design
  • Rain hood

Despite its low price, this product offers many of
the same features seen in high-end models.

If comfort and endurance are your priorities, we’d
recommend taking a closer look. Not only is it super lightweight weighing only
4lbs, but it also comes with an ergonomic double strap for a comfortable fit.

Aside from the club storage compartment divided into
four sections, there are multiple pockets for storing the rest of your gear.
These include:

  • full-length garment pocket
  • valuables pouch
  • insulated drinks pocket
  • four accessory pockets

There’s also an umbrella holder, Velcro glove patch,
and a towel ring, demonstrating the attention to detail that has gone into the
design of this budget-friendly option.

One of the best cheap golf stand bags on the market,
the only downside to this product is that it isn’t fully waterproof. However,
it comes with a rain hood, which may suffice if you tend to plan your rounds
according to the weather forecast.

If you’re willing to spend a little extra, the Wilson Staff waterproof golf stand bag offers similar features whilst keeping your gear dry.

Key features:

  • Five-way divider top
  • Customisable ball pocket
  • Convertible shoulder straps

Weighing just 5lbs, the PING Hoofer Lite is 0.5lbs
lighter than the original, so you’ll benefit from increased endurance during
your games if you opt for this model.

You’d struggle to find a more organised golf stand
bag, as it comes with multiple pockets that are spacious and specially designed
to cater to every golfer’s storage needs. There’s a full-length apparel pocket
for storing a change of clothes, a secure pouch for valuables, and even a
customisable golf ball pocket.

Its design is stylish yet innovative for those who
want their golf stand bag to prioritise comfort. The double shoulder straps can
be converted for single-strap use, and there’s a cart-strap channel included as
part of this model’s design—so transporting this bag is easier than ever.

Other useful features include:

  • glove attachment
  • towel clip
  • umbrella loop
  • built-in lift assist

As you can see, this is one of the best golf stand
bags in terms of the range of features it offers.

However, the one downside to this product is that it isn’t waterproof—but if this is a deal-breaker, you could opt for the PING Hoofer monsoon for a slightly higher price.

Titleist players golf stand bag

Key features:

  • Four-way divider
  • Waterproof design
  • Available in seven different
    colours

The clue is in the name, this golf stand bag from
Titleist is fully waterproof thanks to the StaDry Waterproof construction and
its seam-sealed zippers for added protection against moisture.

Despite its waterproof capabilities, it still weighs
only 3.8lbs and is the lightest golf stand bag on our list. So, if you’re
planning on carrying it by hand, you needn’t worry about it being too much of a
burden.

In terms of design, the bag is sleek and has a
premium, classic feel. It comes in seven different colour options, each with
the stylish Titleist logo emblazoned on the side, so you can customise your
purchase to match the rest of your gear.

The stand is of a brilliant quality thanks so its high-grade aluminium legs and hinged bottom, so you shouldn’t have any issues with stability.

Macgregor hybrid golf stand bag

Key features:

  • 14-way divider top
  • 11 pockets in total
  • Fully hybrid design

This is hands down one of the best cheap golf stand
bags available due to its expansive range of features.

The 14-way divider top provides a designated space
for each of your clubs, which is a nice addition for those who like to be extra
organised.

There are also 11 pockets, including those specially
designed for mobile phones, valuables, and even scorecards. This shows the
thought that has really gone into its design.

MacGregor has developed this bag to be fully hybrid
so that you can easily transport it manually or via a cart or trolley. They
also incorporated anti-slip fabric into its design, which helps to protect it
and keep it in place during transportation.

While it’s not fully waterproof, it comes with a quick-fixing hood to protect your gear during random bouts of rain.

What to look for in a golf stand bag

1. Comfort

You’re going to be carrying this bag for a while.
The average 18-hole round of golf takes four and a half hours, so you don’t want to choose a bag that will wear you down.

Look out for bags with padded straps and ensure the
harness can be adjusted to the right size for your frame. An ill-fitting golf
bag can cause more trouble than one with limited padding.

Some bags even come with padding around the hips and back. So, if you’re currently looking to replace a bag that’s not up to scratch in terms of comfort, this feature should be a priority.

2. Weight

Leading on from comfort, weight certainly matters if
you’re going to be wearing the bag for an extended period.

While you’ll mainly use the stand during the round,
a heavy bag will quickly become a burden when moving between holes, not to
mention the walk back to the car park after a heavy round.

Keep a tab on the weight of the golf bags you’re considering, and opt for a lightweight model if you cannot attach it to a trolley or cart.

3. Storage capacity

If you’re looking for a bag you can use to store
away all your golf gear, it goes without saying that you should choose a
product with a decent storage capacity.

Some bags come with more pockets than others and even have those specially designed to hold valuables or different forms of equipment.

4. Quality

Perhaps one of the most important factors to look
for in a golf stand bag is the quality of its design.

Since the golf equipment market is saturated with knockoff products, it’s easy to fall into the trap of what you think is a good bargain.

We’d recommend scouring the review section of any
product you’re considering and seeing what other customers say about its
quality.

It’s also worth steering clear of cheap knockoffs and opting for a well-known brand or one that appears reliable through an abundance of good reviews.

5. Waterproof

Let’s face it, golfing in the UK has a significant
risk of getting caught in the rain.

If you’re concerned that this could damage your gear
or, at the very least, inconvenience you, it may be best to opt for a
waterproof golf stand bag.

We’ve included a few high-quality options in our list, and we’d recommend spending the extra money if you want to keep your equipment safe and dry.

Specialist golf insurance with Golf Care

To protect your investment in a new golf stand bag,
you may want to protect it through specialist golf
insurance along with the rest of your gear.

With Golf Care, you’ll receive equipment cover up to £7,500 that protects your clubs, bag, and other accessories if they’re lost, damaged, or stolen.

You’ll also receive Public Liability cover up to the
value of £10m, so you’re covered if you cause injury to another golfer or
accidentally damage someone’s property.
